From their storied careers with The Manhattan Transfer and New York Voices, Vocal Gumbo is a celebration of the great singer community in our midst. The night features Janis and Lauren with their trio and a curated salon of vocalists who will wow and mesmerize.
Two like minded Divas walked into a studio and exited fast friends, co-conspirators and believers that when you shine a light on one, you shine a light on all. Lovers of the vocal arts and what the voice can humanly and spiritually do, they curate from the voluptuous and local singer’s scenes and Poof, Vocal Gumbo. One after another, singers are invited to the stage by Janis and Lauren and the program blossoms with every performance. Expect to hear legends alongside up and coming talent and everything in between. All genres are celebrated and collaborations are likely to happen. Featuring a top notch rhythm section, the sets are one of a kind, where excellence and soul are omnipresent and community is the cup we’re all drinking from.
